Break The Silence Only To Spew Some Bullshit
Thanks to those (2) who have Friended me in my prolonged absence. Don't be offended that it took me so long to Friend you back, as there hasn't been anything to see here in months, anyway. Read back far enough, though, and you are bound to find something else that offends you. Or at the very least makes you wonder what the hell you were thinking. I just want you to be prepared.

Yesterday the laptop's power cord-recharge pack gizmo sparked and sent out an impressive curl of foul-smelling smoke before dying for good. I had jerry-rigged a connection to prolong its life last month, and the connection finally melted away for good. This marks the second time in my LJ history that I narrowly avoided carelessly burning the house down. Or at least the second time I've been aware of it.

Merry merry.

I can't remember you - or what prompted me to add you. (not a reflection of you, just commenting on my bad memory).

Ok - so we're the say age and we are both artists - who enjoy cuss words!

Good enough - look forward to more 'spewing bullshit',

Sherry

You sent me a link to your holiday sale. Which I didn't attend because I was/am broke/embarrassed at not finishing anything lately.

Now I'M offended !! I'm forwarding all my holiday fruitcake to you !! :p

Nobody likes it (except you and my father, rest his soul) because it's not recognizable to the average human being as "food." The unearthly density, the weird dry-yet-liquid-emitting texture, the alien-originated "fruit bits," whatever the hell they are. The distinct hospital smell of whatever that is that they're soaked in. Oh, murder.

I would like about fifty of them to use as garden stepping stones, however. If the slugs and squirrels die from eating them, so much the better.

Oh, and good rum cake is actually a wonderful thing. I almost bought one at New Seasons the other day but was too miserly. I'd rather wait and see if they mark them down on the 26th.

yes, they are unidentifiable, but so outrageously tasty?!?

Rum cake after the due date – well, maybe you can still suck some of the alcohol out of it?

I’m broke. I don’t dare venture into, Whole Foods, New Seasons or Wild Oaks.

Thank God, I’m stocked up on Jimmy Dean sausages and Top Ramen.

Wise decision. But I'll probably have to do it if I want to have decent munchies for New Year's guests. OTOH, if I serve enough alcohol punch, maybe nobody will notice what they're eating after the first ten minutes anyway.

Dilemmas, dilemmas... ;)

If the party punch is strong enough - hell, you could feed them wet-cat food on saltines!! Pass it off as pate' ! (not sure how to spell that)

Parsley covers up a multitude of sins. :p

But we have three cats so that plot could backfire. Especially once they start dipping their "pate'"-scented paws in the punchbowl.

You heard about the Spawn of Satan also being sick ? But she's feeling better now. You can tell because she turned mr_xeno's cpap machine on and off in the morning, and then hogged the sink while I was trying to brush my teeth.

I've enjoyed your participation in the discussion over at my place. Last time things got that "hot" was when I announced I was burning my voter registration card (still haven't found the damn thing). I think it has been a fruitful engagement even though a few noses appear to be out of joint for the moment.

Fruitcakes...the SigOt makes them every year-ships them to her family. They love them. Go figure.

Three cats. Good manageable number. We have refused to extend the right to vote to our Horde as we would be outvoted every time.

Question: I am really enjoying the work you posted here and intend to spend more time in your "gallery." Other the very funny(not funny for you, but very well written) description of your laptop combusting, why have you stopped with the artwork? (I'm almost finished with the political thing and will return to usual format of undermining the System one subversive image at a time)...If that is too personal a question, please disregard it.

Since I don't have a blogroll right now, here's a link to CG's blog for those of you playing at home:

The Culture Ghost

(Warning: Those of you who still think that worthless leaky bucket of rancid headcheese "rp**t*" was the winner in this thread will probably not enjoy large portions of Culture Ghost's blog. Well, that's your fucking problem, not mine.)

Culture Ghost, I don't mind answering at all. I have about four million half-finished projects cluttering up the studio right now, and with any luck, a few of them will be finished by March or April. Also I'm working on having a real website by then. Winter is my season for pasting myself into a corner and moping endlessly about same.

At least it's going better for me than it went for Barton Fink. I'm not rooming with any hulking traveling-salesmen-turned [edited out for those who may not have seen the movie yet]. Eh, you know.

Merry Belated Holiday...

Thought you might dig this...saw the Joseph Cornell exhibit at SF MOMA this past Sunday. Stunning. Almost too much to absorb in one visit.

I think the Portland Art Museum might have one Cornell. Maybe two.

You dog. I love MOMA.
